ESL Level 1/ESL Level 2
Overview:
Our ESL 1 and 2 courses are designed to support ESL students with the verbal communication, reading and writing skills neccessary to succeed in their English speaking environment. Students will receive focused instruction using a wide variety of multimedia learning resources to learn basic as well as more advanced skills and strategies. The Strategies will have a multidiscipline content, so students can apply the learned skills to all subject areas.
ESL Literacy Dynamics 8,9
These courses are designed to further support ESL students with reading and writing literacy skills; students will be enrolled in regular English class as well. Students will receive focused instruction to learn basic writing skills and reading strategies such as those found in Reading 44 and S.M.A.R.T. Reading. Strategies will focus on multidiscipline content, so students can apply the learned skills to all subject areas.
Tracked English 8,9
These courses provide a supportive function whereby vocabulary, reading and writing abilities receive substantial attention. The courses utilize a student-focused pace and stress the repetition of important meanings and literary terminology. The focus is on written and spoken grammatical construction.
Language Adapted English 10
This ESL course provides a supportive function whereby vocabulary, reading and writing abilities receive substantial attention.
